As I was studying deep on the creation narratives again, specifically the Hebrew structure of Genesis 1:1–3, something remarkable appears when i looked at the interplay of Bereshit bara Elohim et ha’shamayim ve’et ha’aretz.

That little untranslatable particle et (את), the Aleph and Tav, acts as a marker that joins the object of the verb. But when you look spiritually, the Aleph and Tav are the first and last letters of the Hebrew alphabet. They form a prophetic picture of the Beginning and the End. When John wrote in Greek that Yeshua is “the Alpha and the Omega” (Rev 1:8), he was echoing the same truth that was already present in Bereshit (the beginning). In other words, Yeshua’s fingerprint is right there in the very first sentence of Torah, He is the One through whom the heavens and earth were created (John 1:3).
And, here’s the scientific layer that struck me: recent quantum research on phonons (vibrations that carry sound energy through matter) parallels the way Elohim said and it was. Creation responded to His vibration. The “voice frequencies” of God literally brought form out of the void.
I’ve learned in my studies, that even the smallest Hebrew connector can unveil Messiah’s presence and that the universe itself still hums with the echo of His Word!
After its first appearance in Genesis 1:1, et shows up thousands of times, but always quietly serving as a direct-object marker. In grammar, it seems small and almost invisible, but prophetically, it carries a whisper of the Aleph-Tav, the first and last. Hebrew scribes through the centuries never altered it even when it appeared “unnecessary,” because they sensed it bore sacred mystery.
When Zechariah prophesied of the end time, he said, “They shall look upon Me whom they have pierced” (Zech 12:10). In the Hebrew text, right after the word “Me” (אֵלַי, elai) appears an untranslated et (את), so the literal reading is: “They shall look upon Me, Aleph–Tav, whom they have pierced.” That is staggering. The same unseen et from Genesis 1:1 suddenly stands revealed as the pierced One, the visible expression of the invisible Creator.
Now travel forward to John 19:37 where John quotes that very prophecy at the crucifixion of Yeshua. The Apostle understood the hidden layer: the One hanging on the tree was the Aleph and the Tav, the living Word from the opening line of creation. Heaven’s grammar marker had stepped into flesh.
Even the placement of the letters Aleph (א) and Tav (ת) carries weight. Aleph’s pictograph in ancient Hebrew was an ox head 𐤀, the symbol of strength and leadership. Tav’s ancient form was a crossmark, 𐡕, symbolizing covenant or completion. So embedded in the Hebrew alphabet itself is the message: “The strong One will mark the covenant by the cross.”
When Yeshua cried out “It is finished” (John 19:30) in Hebrew thought He was declaring “Tav!”, completed, sealed, fulfilled. The Aleph-Tav had completed His mission.
Now, if we peek forward again to Revelation 22:13, Yeshua says, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End.” In His own Hebrew tongue, that would’ve been “Ani ha-Aleph v’ha-Tav.” He was identifying Himself as the same mysterious Presence who hovered over the waters in Genesis 1:1–2.
What’s beautiful is how consistent God is across both Scripture and science: creation began with vibration, the Word spoken, and redemption culminated in the same divine frequency, the Word made flesh. Both carry His signature: א and ת, beginning and completion.
Let’s look at how the Aleph–Tav (את), that hidden mark of the Word, threads through Isaiah’s prophecies like light shining behind a veil.
Start with Isaiah 7:14: “Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call His name Immanuel.” In the Hebrew text, right after “the Lord Himself” (אֲדֹנָי הוּא – Adonai Hu) stands an untranslated et (את). It links Adonai to the “sign.” Grammatically it’s a connector, but prophetically it’s as if Scripture is whispering: “The Aleph–Tav Himself will be the sign.” The miracle of Messiah’s birth was not merely from God, it was God-with-us, the living Aleph–Tav entering time.
Now move to Isaiah 9:6–7, where we read that “unto us a Child is born… and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” The Hebrew phrase “unto us” (לָנוּ, lanu) is joined again to an et (את) before “Child” (יֶלֶד, yeled). So literally, “unto us, [the Aleph–Tav] Child is born.” The Messiah’s birth is stamped again with that same divine signature.
Then comes Isaiah 53, the chapter that reveals the suffering Servant. The one chapter the Jews are forbidden by their rabbi’s to read. In verse 10“, Yet it pleased YHWH to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief.” The Hebrew reads: וַיהוָה חָפֵץ דַּכְּאוֹ הֶחֱלִי, V’YHWH chafetz dako hechli, and tucked between the verbs appears, you guessed it, another et (את). The invisible Aleph–Tav stands between YHWH’s will and the Servant’s suffering, uniting Heaven’s purpose with Earth’s redemption.
By the time we reach Isaiah 44:6, the mystery bursts into the open: “Thus says YHWH, King of Israel, and His Redeemer, YHWH of hosts: I am the first and I am the last, and besides Me there is no God.” In Hebrew: כֹּה אָמַר יְהוָה מֶלֶךְ־יִשְׂרָאֵל וְגֹאֲלוֹ יְהוָה צְבָאוֹת אֲנִי רִאשׁוֹן וַאֲנִי אַחֲרוֹן: Ko amar YHWH melech Yisra’el v’go’alo YHWH tzeva’ot: Ani rishon va’ani acharon. Here, Aleph (א) and Tav (ת) are not just implied, they are declared. YHWH says outright, “I am the Aleph and the Tav.”
Centuries later, Yeshua repeats those very words in Revelation 1:17 and 22:13, uniting Isaiah’s prophecy with His own voice. The One who spoke through Isaiah stands revealed as the One speaking to John on Patmos.
Even in gematria, Aleph (א) equals 1 and Tav (ת) equals 400, the first and last numbers of the Hebrew alphabet. Their sum, 401, corresponds to the word אֵת – et. In Hebrew numerics, 401 symbolizes “the sign of the covenant completed.” So every time that tiny et appears in the text, it’s as if a spark of covenant completion is burning in the background, waiting for Calvary to ignite it.
So from Bereshit to Isaiah to Revelation, the same pattern unfolds: the invisible Word made visible, the hidden signature of creation revealed as our pierced Redeemer. The universe began with et ha-shamayim ve’et ha’aretz, and ends with Ani ha-Aleph v’ha-Tav.
