… Now What?” ”No really… what do I do now?
Because most people stop here, and nobody ever really explains this part. You hear ‘give your life to God’… and then it happens… and you’re left sitting there wondering…
Am I supposed to feel different?
Do I change everything overnight?
Do I start going to synagogue or church immediately? What church do I go to?
Do I have to follow a long list of rules?
Am I supposed to become Jewish?
Or wait for a dramatic feeling like lightning striking me?
And maybe the biggest question echoing in your mind is:
What if none of this is real… what if I just imagined it?
First of all, before you do anything, breathe. You did not imagine it. Something real did happen. Something eternal. You didn’t just agree with an idea, you responded to a real Person. And when you did, something inside you came alive.
You might not feel fireworks, some people don’t. But the absence of feelings doesn’t mean nothing changed. Scripture tells us,“Therefore, if anyone is in Messiah, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!”(2 Corinthians 5:17) That’s not metaphor. That’s real life starting.
Life doesn’t always start loud. Sometimes it starts quiet. And then, later, you realize… something inside you is different. Something is waking up. That’s the beginning. Not the end goal. Not perfection. The beginning.
The Jewish Question
One of the first questions many new believers ask is: “Do I need to become Jewish?”
Yes, Yeshua is Jewish. Salvation came through Israel. That matters. But God is not asking you to switch your culture, your background, or your external identity.
He’s doing something deeper than that. He’s bringing you into His family. Not changing your outward ethnicity, but restoring who you are inside. The Bible shows this through the metaphor of grafting: non-Jews being grafted into the olive tree (Romans 11:17-24).
So, no, you are not becoming Jewish. You are becoming His.
How God Speaks
Now… how do you actually know what God wants? How does He speak to you?
Not usually in booming voices or dramatic visions. Most of the time, it’s relational, quiet, and steady:
A nudge you can’t ignore
Sudden clarity in a confusing moment
Conviction that isn’t condemnation
A sense of peace when you’re aligned with truth
Tension when something is off.
✝️
The Hebrew concept of ruach (Spirit, wind, breath) moves subtly, like the still, small voice Elijah heard (1 Kings 19:12). God’s voice is more often experienced as recognition, direction, or comfort than noise. Over time, you’ll begin to recognize Him consistently.

The Holy Spirit
“How do I know I have the Holy Spirit?”
It’s not about chasing a dramatic moment. It’s about internal changes; not physically, but Spiritually:
A genuine hunger for God, Awareness of rights and wrongs you didn’t care about before. Desire to change, even if you struggle, Sensitivity to sin, to truth, to His call.
Sometimes, the Fruit of The Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) shows up slowly: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. That’s God’s Spirit working in you, not an instant performance.
Sin and Struggle
You are not suddenly perfect. That is crucial to understand.
You will still struggle. Old habits, old reactions, old ways of thinking… they will rise up. But here’s the difference now: something inside you resists it.
Before you met Yeshua, sin might not have bothered you. Now, your nephesh (soul) and ruach (spirit) are waking up. There’s a tension, an internal discomfort when you move away from truth. That tension is not condemnation; it’s life stirring inside you. Follow it, not the temptation.
Daily Life: What Do I Actually Do?
Start small. No pressure. No overwhelming lists.
Pray: Talk to God, like you would to a trusted friend. He IS. Psalm 139:5-10
Read a little Scripture, even one verse or a chapter at a time, and think about them. 2 Timothy 2:15
Pay attention to the stirrings inside. Your conscience, your intuition is guided by Him. John 16:13
When you sense truth or direction, obey it. James 1:22, 1 John 3:18
You do not need to figure out everything. You do not need to become a different person overnight. You are learning to walk with Him. And He is walking with you. Like a toddler learning to walk, he stumbles at first, before he takes his first strong step, you will learn to walk in Him.
My Reassurance to you
You are not alone in this journey. Every new believer experiences questions, doubts, and curiosity. The key is to stay connected, remain attentive, and respond to His guidance. ASK Him to send who He would have to teach you. Don’t just take anyone’s word for how you should feel or be. Pray that God lead someone to you that HE approves of (there are deceivers that will try to sway you away).
This is the start of a lifelong conversation. A relationship. A walk with the One who made you, who redeemed you, and who will never leave you.
“And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:20)
Watch. Listen. Stand.
Prayer
Father, You are holy and wonderful. I don’t understand everything, but I know You are real. Thank You for finding me, for loving me when I was lost. Please fill me with Your Spirit. Teach me to hear You, help me to follow You, and guide me in every step. Forgive me for all the wrong in my life. I want to turn to You and be Yours.
I worship You, I praise You, I need You. Stay close to me, Lord. Hold me. Lead me. Help me love You more each day.
In Yeshua’s Holy Name, Amen Amen.
