The Lord just gave this to me one day because He knows I like similes, analogies and symbolisms. Enjoy!
You want to picture it right? Then do this—
Imagine the stars are the grass under His feet.
Picture the galaxies like flowers blooming across His front lawn. Not weeds. Not wild things. But planted and placed with purpose.
Now take just our one galaxy—the one we live in—the Milky Way. It’s 100,000 light-years wide. Let me say that again. It would take you 100,000 years traveling at the speed of light—which is 186,3
00 miles per second—just to cross from one side of our galaxy to the other. And that’s just one flower in the yard.
Now start backing up.
Back away from Earth. Watch it become a dot.
Back away from our galaxy—see that giant swirl of stars shrink down to a sparkle, then to a speck, and then to a dot.
And you are still in God’s front yard.
You’re not even past the porch light.
That’s how enormous, how unthinkably massive, how immeasurable His front yard is.
But one day…
One day, we will get to see the house.
Not just the yard. Not just the stars and galaxies.
The house.
And here’s the part that flips all of it inside out:
That house…
is coming.
To a little dot
called Earth.
Revelation 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
