Judea, Not ‘Palestine’: Uncovering the Roman Rewriting of History
Prelude
I came across the title of Francesca Albanese’s latest video on youtube (actually it came across my feed as a… recommendation, and I have to be honest; my jaw dropped. The ignorance, the twisting of history, the complete disregard for facts… it was almost unbelievable. I felt a fire of outrage, not at people, but at the sheer blindness to truth. This isn’t about politics; it’s about history, about God’s covenant people, and about facts that have stood for millennia. What follows is my response, a careful, documented look at the land she keeps calling “Palestine” and the truth she seems determined to ignore.
Introduction
When the world thinks it moves the pieces, God is the one holding the board. Every sanction, every report, every human attempt to oppose His covenant people is under His sovereign hand. What the world calls political maneuvering, international law, or moral advocacy is, at its core, a stage where God’s justice, protection, and authority are revealed. Nothing escapes His control; nothing succeeds outside His will.
In these pages, we trace the actions and statements of Francesca Albanese, the “UN Special Rapporteur” on the occupied Palestinian territories, from her appointment in 2022 through the latest sanctions in 2025. Every attempt to oppose Israel, whether through condemnation, calls for embargoes, or international pressure, fits a clear pattern Scripture has long shown: those who rise against God’s people face shame, frustration, and loss. The hand of God moves even through human systems, nations, institutions, and international bodies, accomplishing His purposes, often without the world realizing it.
This is not a commentary on international law, nor a debate over human rights; it is a demonstration of God’s sovereignty in action. As you read below, notice how every act of opposition aligns with divine patterns: protection of His people, judgment on the wicked, and ultimate control over all hearts and nations.
And ain’t thing one she (nor they) can do about it.
There has never been a sovereign state called “Palestine” in history in the sense of an independent, recognized nation. The history of the term is important to trace carefully.
The name “Palestine” (Greek: Παλαιστίνη, Palaistinē) comes from the Romans, who, after putting down the Bar Kokhba revolt in 135 CE, renamed the province of Judea as Syria Palaestina. Historical sources indicate that this was done partly to (try to) erase Jewish national identity in the land, a punitive and political act. The term itself comes from the Philistines, an ancient people who lived along the coastal area of Gaza during the 12th–7th centuries BCE, but the Philistines were long gone by Roman times.
Before the Roman renaming, the land was known historically as:
- Canaan (in early biblical texts)
- The Land of Israel / Judea (during the Israelite and Judean kingdoms)
- Province of Judaea (under Roman rule prior to 135 CE)
There was never a nation or people historically called “Palestinians”ANYWHERE in ancient records. The modern usage of the term “Palestinian” to describe Arabs living in the region arises in the 20th century, particularly during the British Mandate period (1920–1948), after World War I, to designate the local Arab population.
The Romans called it Palestine, partly as a mockery of the Jewish connection, but there has never been a political entity historically called “Palestine”until very modern times.

1. Her mandate and actions
Albanese, as UN Special Rapporteur, monitors human rights in the territories Israel occupies, particularly Gaza and the West Bank. She has:
- Condemned Israeli military actions, labeling some reports as potentially “genocidal.”
- Called for international sanctions, arms embargoes, and accountability measures against Israel.
- Framed Israel as a primary actor in “apartheid” and occupation, often highlighting civilian suffering.
In essence, she is using her UN platform to advocate for Palestinians and to apply political pressure on Israel.
2. Scripture on God’s people and defense
God repeatedly commands His people to protect themselves and stand for His justice:
- Exodus 15:3 – “The Lord is a man of war; the Lord is His name.” God fights for His people. He does not leave them undefended.
- Psalm 83 is a prophetic psalm where God allows enemies plotting against Israel to be judged and confounded. The psalmist asks, “Do not spare their wickedness, lest they say, ‘We have overcome.’”
- Isaiah 41:11-12 – God promises to frustrate those who rise against His people: “Behold, all who are incensed against you shall be put to shame and confounded; those who strive with you shall be as nothing.”
The pattern is consistent: when someone or some nation opposes God’s covenant people, God often allows human or political instruments to act in ways that bring shame or loss to those opponents.
3. Divine vs. human instruments
Albanese’s sanctions, freezing of assets, and international criticisms could appear to be purely political. But Scripture shows that God can use nations and human systems as instruments of judgment:
- Daniel 4:17 – God’s sovereignty extends over kings and kingdoms: “The Most High rules the kingdom of men and gives it to whom He will.”
- Proverbs 21:1 – “The king’s heart is a stream of water in the hand of the Lord; he turns it wherever He will.” Political leaders, sanctions, and judgments can become instruments of His purpose.
If God’s hand is in it, what seems like a “human retaliation” may also serve as a spiritual warning or correction.
4. Pattern in history
Scripture consistently shows a pattern for those who oppose God’s people:
- Pharaoh in Exodus 7–14 hardened his heart against Israel and faced plagues and destruction.
- King Haman in Esther plotted against the Jews and ultimately was executed.
- Amalekites were opposed to Israel from generation to generation, and God gave Israel victory to preserve His people (see 1 Samuel 15).
In each case, opposition to God’s covenant people eventually resulted in loss, shame, or judgment.
5. Albanese’s actions viewed through this lens
- Her condemnation of Israel’s actions and advocacy for sanctions are her human-led instruments, opposing the covenant people.
- Her asset freezes, international sanctions, and criticism may represent divinely permitted consequences, a form of “reversal” that Scripture predicts for those acting against God’s chosen.
- Scripture does not imply immediate destruction, but a pattern of judgment over time, often using earthly systems.
6. Takeaway
From a biblical perspective: God protects His people, and those who persistently oppose His covenant may face:
- Exposure and shame
- Loss of resources or influence
- Frustration in plans, even when they have human backing
Albanese’s current difficulties can be seen as part of that pattern. While she claims political or moral high ground in international law, Scripture indicates that opposing God’s people carries consequences, whether directly or indirectly through human systems.
Let’s lay this out carefully. I’ll go chronologically from 2022 through 2025, linking Albanese’s actions to Scripture patterns, literal translations, and lessons. I’ll keep it readable, prophetic-style, but grounded in actual events.

- Lesson: Opposition to God’s covenant brings real consequences through human instruments.
Summary Observations:
- Albanese’s opposition follows a biblical pattern of those who oppose God’s covenant people.
- Scripture predicts shame, loss, and frustration for such opponents.
- Even UN or governmental actions are under God’s providence, serving indirectly as instruments of His judgment.
And ain’t thing one they can do about it.
I feel no triumph over her mistakes, no pleasure in her failures. I feel only sorrow. Sorrow for a soul trapped in Spiritual blindness, for a human who has turned from truth and light. My heart grieves that she cannot yet see the ways of God, that she cannot yet discern His covenant and justice. I pray that one day she will awaken to His truth, and that mercy will touch her understanding, for without it, she remains lost in the shadows of her own making.
In the precious name of Yeshua HaMashiach.
