Trust God, He knows!

In our journey through life, we often find ourselves in situations that leave us feeling lost, confused, and anxious about what lies ahead. During these uncertain times, it’s vital to remind ourselves to trust in God. He knows our paths, our struggles, and our desires, and that’s something we can find peace in. Let’s explore how we can embrace unwavering faith in His divine plan by looking at scripture and some relatable real-life examples.

The call to trust in God is a recurring theme in the Bible, offering reassurance when we doubt. For instance, Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart; and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths.” These words remind us that we need to place our trust fully in God and not lean solely on our limited understanding. When we surrender our plans and desires to Him, we find clarity and direction.

Take Sarah’s story from Genesis 18. God promised her a child in her old age—something that seemed downright impossible. When she overheard the affirmation of that promise, she laughed, reflecting her disbelief. But God gently asked her, “Is anything too hard for the LORD?” Even with her doubts and years of waiting, Sarah ultimately witnessed God’s promise fulfilled when she gave birth to Isaac. Her experience teaches us that even when life feels overwhelming, we can trust that God is at work, even when we can’t see it.

We often craft plans based on our experiences, but Isaiah 55:8-9 reminds us, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, says the LORD.” It’s crucial to recognize that God’s ways and thoughts far exceed our own. Transitioning from relying on our strategies to depending on His wisdom may feel daunting, but it can be incredibly rewarding.

Think about what happens when someone loses a job. Panic sets in as they wonder how they’ll pay their bills or support their family. But in those moments, it’s essential to pause and lean on God’s understanding. There’s the story of Josh, who unexpectedly lost a job after several years. Filled with despair at first, he sought prayer and guidance from his church community. In time, he felt a shift in his heart. God started revealing new opportunities he had been preparing for him all along. Within a few months, Josh found a new job that not only aligned with his passions but also brought greater fulfillment.

God has a way of transforming our setbacks into setups for new beginnings. Trust that He is paving a path even when it isn’t immediately visible.

One of the most reassuring verses in the Bible comes from Jeremiah 29:11, where we read, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” This verse is a reminder that God’s plans for us are filled with hope and purpose. Even in uncertain times, we can trust that His intentions exceed our understanding.

Another inspiring example is Kate, who felt called to leave her stable corporate job to dive into nonprofit work. It was a scary decision—after all, it meant a financial leap into the unknown. But through prayer, she found a deep peace that this was indeed God’s direction for her life. Once she embraced this path, she discovered a calling that truly energized her and allowed her to bring joy to others. Just weeks later, the organization she joined received significant funding, enabling her to lead impactful projects that resonated with her passions.

When we trust God with our dreams and aspirations, we open ourselves to incredible possibilities.

Life is unpredictable and can often test our faith. But through scripture and these stories, we see that trusting that God can be our anchor in the storm. Whether we’re waiting, questioning, or acting in faith, we can hold onto the reassuring truth that He knows.

As you move forward into your own new beginnings, carry with you the understanding that trusting God leads to boundless possibilities, and His plans for you are good. Embrace the unknown, knowing that He walks with you every step of the way. In every challenge you face, remember to trust God. He knows!
