They call it “Pride Month”. But Adonai calls it Idolatry.
The word pride in Hebrew is גָּאוֹן (ga’on), and it’s almost always negative when it’s used of man. It means arrogance, swelling, lifting oneself up. The root, גאה (ga’ah), appears in verses like this:
הַגָּאוֹן וְהַגָּאוָה וְרָמוּת כָּל־הַגְּבָע֖וֹת וְהַנִּשָּׂאִים
ha-ga’on ve-ha-ga’avah ve-ramut kol ha-gevahot ve-ha-nissa’im
“The arrogance and pride and highness of all the hills shall be brought low.” Isaiah 2:17
It’s no accident they’ve chosen “pride” as their banner. It’s exactly the heart of the first rebellion. Before a “serpent” slithered through Eden, before mankind ever fell, there was a being who said:
אֶעֱלֶה עַל־בָּמֳתֵי עָב אֶדַּמֶּה לְעֶלְיוֹן
e‘eleh al-bamotei av, edammeh le‘Elyon
“Iwill ascend above the heights of the clouds,Iwill make myself like the Most High.”Isaiah 14:14
That was Helel ben Shachar, the shining one (see footnote), (this was added: “Lucifer” in Latin, is in the vulgate – not in the original text). The origin of pride. The origin of rebellion. And it is his spirit that moves through these days like smoke from a furnace.
They take a sign God gave as a covenant of mercy, the rainbow, קֶשֶׁת (qeshet), and fly it in open defiance.
אֶת־קַשְׁתִּי נָתַתִּי בֶּעָנָן וְהָיְתָה לְאוֹת בְּרִית בֵּינִי וּבֵין הָאָרֶץ
et-qashti natati be’anan, ve-hayetah le’ot berit beini u-vein ha’aretz
“I have set My bow in the cloud, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between Me and the earth.”Genesis 9:13
But now? That bow, once a promise not to destroy, is held like a weapon against the One who gave it. They flaunt what should bring repentance. They demand acceptance of what brings wrath.
And the whole world celebrates it.
הוֹי הָאֹמְרִים לָרַע טוֹב וְלַטּוֹב רָע
hoy ha-omrim la-ra tov, ve-la-tov ra
“Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil…” Isaiah 5:20
They’re not confused. They’re not lost sheep. They are wolves in parade dress, devouring innocence, preaching a gospel of flesh, shouting to Heaven with clenched fists: “We were not made. We made ourselves.”
But the truth still stands. And it burns brighter the darker this world gets.
There is only one identity that will not burn in the Day of Fire:
בְּחֵן הִצְדִּיק עַבְדִּי לָרַבִּים וַעֲוֹנֹתָם הוּא יִסְבֹּל
bechen hizdiq avdi la-rabbim, va’avonotam hu yisbol
“By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many, and He shall bear their iniquities.”Isaiah 53:11
Yeshua haMashiach – aka Jesus the Christ (in the Greek), not a symbol, not a slogan, but a pierced King with blood on His robe and fire in His eyes.
Pride will fall.
Every banner lifted against the Holy One will be torn down.
Every rainbow waved in mockery will be answered by a bow of wrath, drawn tight by the hand of the Righteous One.
So let them have their month. Let them cheer and party and post their hashtags.
The clock is ticking.
The heavens are trembling.
And the Son of Man is coming, not as a lamb this time, but as a Lion.
כִּי יִרְאֵה כִּי אָזְלַת יָד וְאֵפֶס עָצוּר וְעָזוּב
ki yir’eh ki azlat yad, ve’efes atzur va‘azuv
“For the Lord will see that their strength is gone, and no one is left, bond or free…”Deuteronomy 32:36
Judgment begins in the house of God. But it does not end there. It moves outward, like fire from the altar. And every false altar will be overturned.
So let the remnant stand tall, not in pride, but in the fear and awe of Adonai, in humility, in truth. Not waving a flag, but carrying a cross. Not rewriting biology, but surrendering to the One who spoke life into dust and called it very good.
Let us say it boldly:
יְהוָה הוּא הָאֱלֹהִים
YHWH Hu haElohim
ADONAI, He is God.
And no one else.
Not self.
Not flesh.
Not pride.
May their altars fall. May their rainbow dim.
And may the Name of the Lord YESHUA MESHIACH be lifted up in the sight of all flesh.
For He is coming. And His reward, and His sword, is with Him.

- God did not name the rebel “Lucifer.”
- God did not say this figure was Satan, He said it was the king of Babylon (melekh bavel, Isaiah 14:4).
- God used poetry, prophetic taunt, and heavenly imagery, to expose arrogance, not to give us a demonology textbook.
- And nowhere in the Hebrew does God equate הֵילֵל בֶּן־שָׁחַר (hêlēl ben-shaḥar) with Satan by name.
