(c) 2009, 2021 Just a quick message on Our Righteousness

Isa 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
This little story is about two things, an incredible miracle, and a deeper understanding of our desperate need of God’s grace and mercy. On Christmas Eve this year, the drains in our basement began to back up and the water was sewage. I was frantically trying to mop it up and tried a bottle of drain cleaner, but it just kept coming up. I was in a state of absolute panic and started praying. I asked God to give me a solution as a Christmas present.
My step son, who had bought the first bottle of drain cleaner, was still in the driveway. So I ran out and asked him if he would take me to get another one. We were coming back and they let me off at my house. There was a van behind us and when I got out, I looked at the side of the van. It was a plumber. I asked him to help me even tho I had no money to pay him at the time. He cheerfully came in and fixed it. I had asked God for a miracle and He gave us one… and only in a space of about 10 minutes after I had prayed for one. Believe me I was desperate. God is awesome.
I said all that to say this; What I was mopping up was human waste; e-coli. It was frightening! It had a horrible odor like dead things rotting. God wanted me to see how HE sees our futile attempt at being “righteous” on our own. When he says “it is as filthy rags” He meant discarded rags from a woman’s menses. That’s pretty vile.
Matt 23:27 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchers, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness.
The pharisees and other teachers of the law had, over time, become puffed up with pride with all their knowledge, and thinking they were doing everything right. They looked down their noses at what they called “rabble” and thought they were better than everybody. Kind of like some mega churches today who look upon another country or “religion” as an “enemy” and still call themselves “christian”…..filthy rags , e-coli dead men’s bones….
WE NEED GOD’S RIGHTEOUSNESS OR WE HAVE NONE…. THANK GOD FOR JESUS CHRIST, Who made it so ALL of us will have God’s righteousness and ultimately immortality in HIS Spirit. He is the Savior of the WHOLE WORLD 1 Tim 4:10. And there isn’t thing one man can do to change that. Jer. 10:23
Just wanted to to give y’all something to think about.
Think on the good and Praise HIM for it!
